Momo is one of the most popular and loved snacks in Nepal and many parts of Asia. Originally influenced by Tibetan cuisine, momo has become a favorite street food and comfort food for people of all ages.
Momo is a type of dumpling made from soft flour dough filled with delicious ingredients like minced chicken, buff (buffalo meat), vegetables, or paneer. The filling is mixed with spices, garlic, ginger, and onions to enhance the taste. After filling, the dumplings are carefully folded into different shapes and usually steamed. Besides steamed momo, people also enjoy fried momo, jhol momo (served with soup), and chili momo.
One of the most important parts of momo is its spicy and tangy achar (sauce). The sauce is commonly made from tomatoes, sesame seeds, chili, and local spices. The combination of soft dumpling and spicy achar creates a mouthwatering experience.

In cities like Kathmandu, momo is more than just food it is part of daily life. From small street stalls to modern restaurants, momo is available everywhere.
